The Radiology Aide is responsible for transporting CT patients in a safe and efficient manner. This position helps to facilitate patient flow by preparing the patients for their procedures. In addition, the Radiology Aide delivers patient charts, specimens, supplies and equipment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Transports patients primarily to CT within the Radiology Department.
- Handles and delivers specimens to the lab.
- Assists Radiology Tech with positioning patients according to radiologists' protocols.
- Properly identifies patients using 2 hospital-wide patient safety identifiers.
- Assists patients with instructions for changing, drinking oral contrast, and positioning.
- Maintains accurate patient records for all procedures performed and adheres to all HIPPA standards.
- Provides care appropriate to the age of the patients served on his or her assigned unit.
- Assesses data reflective of the patient's status and interprets each patient's requirements relative to his or her age and specific needs to provide appropriate care.
- Provides patient care to adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.
- Answers and transfers phone calls within the department.
- Assists with clerical functions.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
Previous experience with lifting/transporting patients and providing excellent customer service within a healthcare setting.
EDUCATION:
High School Diploma or equivalent.

Individuals in this position are required to exercise universal precautions, use personal protective equipment and devices, and learn the policies concerning infection control.
