Are you a certified Cytotechnologist? Are you in school pursuing a Cytotechnologist degree/certification? This will be a fast paced, customer focused, and challenging environment.

Under general supervision, the Cytotechnologist will perform microscopic evaluation of Urine Cytology specimens for the determination of possible malignant or related abnormal conditions alongside trained and specialized individuals in the Cytology department in Oklahoma City, OK.

The work schedule for this position will be: 1st shift, Monday-Friday 7:30am-3:00pm.

Responsibilities:

• Perform microscopic evaluation of cellular material to detect cancer and other pathological conditions.
• Classify all examined slides and prepare a preliminary diagnosis.
• Acquire cellular images on abnormal cases for reporting.
• Enter preliminary diagnosis into the LIS.
• Document screening workload following all CLIA requirements outlined in the laboratory standard operating procedures.
• Participate in Accuracy Comparison Testing for Urine Cytology.
• Required to obtain 24 units of continuing education annually.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited college/university

• Successful competition of an accredited Cytology program

• ASCP Cytotechnologist (CT) Certification is required

• Prior experience working in Cytology is preferred

• Must pass slide screening requirements and annual CAP proficiency test

• Familiarity with laboratory information systems (LIS)

• Ability to work independently or within a team

• Highly organized and strong attention to detail

• Strong communication skills; both written and verbal

• Must be able to pass a standardized color vision screen
