The director of Medical Simulation oversees all aspects of medical simulation activities within the Covenant Healthcare Simulation Center. This highly collaborative position will work as part of a team of staff, faculty, and administrators in developing, leading, and maintaining the medical education program at the CMU College of Medicine. The director will play a crucial role in enhancing medical education, training and research through the effective utilization of simulation technologies and methodologies. Under the direction of the president and CEO, the director will provide administrative and educational leadership for the development, implementation and instruction of educational offerings through the simulation center.

The successful candidate will be a board certified/board eligible M.D. or D.O. graduate from an accredited medical school and residency. Provider/instructor certifications in ACLS, ATLS, BLS, PALS and fellowship training or certificate program in simulation-based education or ultrasound preferred. They must possess and be able to obtain licensure and certification as required by applicable law and accrediting organizations, fulfill the requirements for and obtain a faculty appointment with the applicable department of CMU Medical Education Partners and shall maintain medical staff appointments at participating institutions. Experience in resident and/or medical student education is required. Knowledge of curriculum design, surgical procedural skills, advanced computer skills, as well as experience with manikin-based simulation, partial task trainers, crisis management training, and debriefing methodologies are highly desired.
