The certified nurse midwife assumes management responsibility of a caseload of obstetrical and gynecological patients selected according to midwifery practice protocols. This position assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates care of patients, and supports and promotes a positive image of midwifery, obstetrical care and Olympic Medical Center.
Education Graduate of a Nurse Midwifery program and certified by WA State OR Master of Science in Nursing, Masters of Nursing, or equivalent Nurse Practitioner Degree. Experience Two years of experience in nurse midwifery preferred. Antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum and well woman care experience preferred. C-section first assist experience preferred. Licensure/Credentials Current Washington State RN Licensure and current Washington State ARNP with prescriptive authority in Washington State. OR Current Washington State PA-C Licensure and prescriptive authority. BLS required within 30 days of hire. Current DEA registration required. Maintains appropriate privileges and membership on the OMC Medical Staff. Maintains appropriate Continuing Medical Education (CME) credits per Washington State and OMC Medical Staff requirements.
