Our beautiful Labor of Love Birth Center in Lutz, FL is seeking an experienced, warm, compassionate, and team-oriented Certified Nurse-Midwife (CNM) Director of Midwifery to join our team on a full-time basis. The Director of Midwifery is an exceptional communicator, has a genuine passion for midwifery, adaptable and open to change, and above all patient-experience focused.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduate from approved and accredited Nurse Midwifery program
Certified as a Nurse Midwife by the American Midwifery Certification Board (AMCB)
Active RN and APRN licenses in the State of Florida
Experienced in the clinical practice of nurse midwifery and administration.
Active member of the ACNM
Meets continuing competency criteria of Florida and AMCB
Current NRP and BLS certification
Ability to be added to the Birth Center’s malpractice policy
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
The Birth Center CNM Director of Midwifery is responsible for the 24-hour operation of the Birth Center. The Director of Midwifery is responsible for clinical staff.
The CNM Director of Midwifery is also responsible for the management of care of Birth Center and midwifery practice clients during the antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum phase, as well as neonates until 28 days of age; as well as providing women’s health and gynecological care.
Plans, organizes, directs, and evaluates all aspects of Birth Center functioning.
Supervises daily operation.
Establishes and revises policies, practice agreements, procedures, and quality assurance programs.
Hires, evaluates, and terminates staff.
Coordinates schedules for office staff, clinical office staff and on-call hours.
Meets with the Board of Directors, professionals, and office staff on a regularly scheduled basis.
Assist in the development of the annual budget and reviews profit/loss statements.
Plans and evaluates client care programs.
Develops and works toward achieving long term plans for the birth center.
Participates in direct client care activities in rotation with other CNM(s).
Participates in professional and community activities.
Represents the Birth Center in a professional manner to the community.
Continued professional development.
Participates in the clinical and / or didactic education of midwifery, nursing, and medical students by providing in-services and new educational material periodically.
Serves as laboratory director
POSITION REPORTS TO:
Responsible to the Administrator for administrative functions and to the Medical Director & Chief Midwife Officer for clinical functions of the Birth Center.

The employee must be able to use muscles to lift, push, pull, or carry heavy objects. The employee must frequently lift and move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and move objects up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
