The Quality Manager of Cardiovascular Services plans and directs the daily management activities of the Stroke and AMI Program, STS and ACC/NCDR Data collection and Management inclusive of budgetary, regulatory and quality compliance. This position is responsible for all quality activities related to coordination of care and care delivery for the patient population. In addition, the CV Quality Manager is responsible for organizing and administering the Stroke/AMI program and ensuring maintenance of appropriate registry submission.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manages the Stroke and AMI Program and data collection as it relates to STS and ACC/NCDR. GWTG, PCIRS and CSRS.
• Collaborates with Cardiologists, Cardiac Surgeons, Neurologists, other physicians and members of the health care team to plan, organize and deliver identified services to achieve desirable patient service and care outcomes.
• Assures adherence to The Joint Commission, local, State and Federal regulatory, hospital and professional organizations requirements as it pertains to accreditation, practice, quality, certification and registry.
• Works collaboratively with patients, their families, health care providers, community groups as needed, and schools to facilitate Stroke/AMI education, care and prevention throughout the continuum of care.
• Facilitates education and training for Neuro Thrombectomy Program and implements successful roll out and maintenance of metrics, benchmarks, volume, statistics and data trends and process improvement activities for the program.
• Monitors registry compliance and accurate, timely submissions of data.
• Supervises the preparation and constant readiness of the department for certification visits.
• Recommends, develops and implements up to date management principles, objectives and procedures to obtain strategic initiatives for Cardiovascular Services.
• Maintains records of patient services for internal committee review and external use by affiliated health service organizations.
• Participates in all quality initiatives, process improvement projects, to include departmental quality initiatives and external registry and quality programs.
• Conducts on-going assessment of staff performance and provides feedback and educational opportunities in a timely manner.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS:

Three (3) years of clinical experience in Emergency Medicine, Critical Care, Cardiology, Neurology and or Cath Lab. New York State RN licensure required. Current BLS and ACLS required.

EDUCATION:

MSN or MBA preferred.
