The role you’ll contribute:
As a Childbirth Educator with AHT, you will educate our families regarding breastfeeding, infant care, childbirth preparation, grandparenting, maternal/infant support, and infant CPR. This will be done through our childbirth education classes, virtually and in-person, as needed.
The value you’ll bring to the team:
Provides accurate and consistent information to participants regarding childbirth education, teaching according to AHT policies & procedures.
Keeps supplies clean and orderly according to policy.
Participates in opportunities to educate the community of childbirth education as needed
Maintains satisfactory participation and attendance at required and non-required meetings and staff development programs
Practices adherence to the hospital confidentiality policy
Uses a variety of teaching techniques related to childbirth preparation, breastfeeding, infant care, maternal/infant support, and Safe Sleep practices
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
Knowledge of Newborn Care, Breastfeeding, infant CPR, Childbirth Preparation, Safe Sleep Practices, according to class being taught
6-12 months experience of teaching Childbirth Education Classes
Maternal/Newborn or Labor and Delivery Experience preferred
Registered Nurse – Florida
Basic Life Support (BLS)
Certified Lactation Counselor, Certified Breastfeeding Counselor, or IBCLC
