Under close supervision of a licensed nurse, Patient Care Associate / PCA provides basic and intermediate nursing care for assigned group of patients based on competence.

General Nursing Units - Certified Nursing Assistant / CNA care for patients from age 18 years to maturity. Unit specific variation may apply.

Special Care Areas - Certified Nursing Assistant / CNA care for patients 18years through adult with high-risk conditions.

Maternal Child Units: Labor and Delivery- Certified Nursing Assistant / CNA care includes patients who have a pregnancy related condition.

Nursery care - Certified Nursing Assistant / CNA includes care for the newborn until discharge.

Endoscopy Unit - Certified Nursing Assistant / CNA cares for patients 18 years and older.

Emergency Department - Certified Nursing Assistant / CNA provides care to patients of all ages.

Behavioral Health/Gero-Psych Unit - Certified Nursing Assistant / CNA provides care for patients 17years and older requiring psychiatric care. Completes established competencies for the position within designated introductory period. Other related duties as assigned.

Education

Required: High school diploma or GED

Experience

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 1year�s experience as a certified Nurse Aide or Patient Care Tech in acute care

Certifications

REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: Possession of a current state or national nurse�s aide certification or a certification as a phlebotomist, medical technician, patient care technician, medical assistant, EKG tech or in another related field.

REQUIRED COURSES/ COMPLETIONS (e.g., CPR): BLS �Obtained through approved American Heart Association TrainingCenter.
