Lactation Consultant Part Time Days Position Summary
Provides knowledge in the practice of lactation management.
Assesses patientâ��s needs, diagnoses lactation problems, plans and implements intervention, and evaluates outcomes.
Conducts prenatal breastfeeding classes and evaluates educational outcomes.
Provides outpatient care, consultation and home visits for families experiencing breastfeeding difficulties.
Serves as consultant for physicians and other healthcare providers concerning lactation as it relates to patientâ��s health problems.
THE LACTATION CONSULTANT PART TIME DAYS CANDIDATE WILL POSSESS THE FOLLOWING EDUCATION, LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS, AND EXPERIENCE.
Required: Graduate from an academic program in human lactation and breastfeeding that includes both the didactic and clinical instruction.
Required: Experience working with Mother Baby couplets in low and high risk situations.
Required: Must be certified as an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC). CPR.
