The Women's Health Nurse Navigator (WHNN) is a Registered Nurse responsible for identifying, facilitating, and coordinating patient-centered care and services. The WHNN has a crucial role in assisting women Veterans to efficiently obtain gender specific services and care, with emphasis on maternity care coordination, coordination of gynecologic services, cervical cancer screening and mammogram coordination and follow-up. Duties of the Women's Health Nurse Navigator include, but are not limited to: Coordinates maternity care for pregnant female Veterans which includes referral through the Office of Community Care to outisde facilities and follow-up of each pregnant woman Veteran over the course of her pregnancy.
