Assist in the setup of sophisticated OR equipment, such as endoscopy and video equipment. Brings equipment to room, performs basic setup, troubleshoots during procedure(s), coordinates emergency repairs.
Ensure that OR equipment is kept in good repair. Provides effective periodic routine inspection and tests of equipment to maintain code conformance and ensure proper performance. Troubleshoots and repairs equipment.
Coordinate the installation of equipment; oversees the installation of minor equipment. Supervises the installation of fixed equipment, such as OR lights and X-ray view boxes. Coordinates internal departments such as shops and Building Services, and outside vendors. Collaborates with the Nurse Managers to plan work so as to minimize the interruption to staff and patients
Design and implement modifications to improve the efficiency and safety of biomedical instrumentation.
High school diploma plus a combination of education and experience that provides (1) a working knowledge of the operation, underlying physiological principles, and practical, safe clinical applications of patient care equipment, and (2) knowledge of hospital policy and state and federal code as they related to equipment used in operating rooms.
8 hour shifts from 6am to 2pm with a varied work schedule with weekend rotation needed.
