Overview M Health Fairview is a large healthcare system that manages five distinct NICU within the Minneapolis/St. Paul metro area. The University of Minnesota Masonic Children's Hospital is the large NICU within M Health Fairview, as it is a 75-bed level IV NICU that provides regional neonatal care to the most complex infants. The NICU at UMMCH provides neonatal medical care to premature infants as young as 22 weeks. The expanding Maternal Fetal Medicine practice is coordinated with the UMMCH NICU to provide comprehensive maternal and neonatal care for medically fragile term infants including infants with genetic conditions, congenital heart defects, renal anomalies, neuromuscular conditions, congenital diaphragmatic hernia, and additional medical complications.
