Position Summary The Perinatal Nurse Clinician (NC) collaborates with members of the health care team to provide care coordination for a select group of complex high risk obstetric patients, along the continuum. S/he coordinates patient care; serving as a liaison between patients, referring providers and the Duke High Risk Perinatal Team. The NC collaborates in providing formal and informal patient, family and staff education. The NC is a dynamic and positive role model for the multidisciplinary team. The Perinatal Nurse Clinician contributes to excellence in patient care, research, teaching and leadership to the organization. S/he is a dynamic and positive role model for the interdisciplinary team. Position Requirements Position requires current North Carolina Registered Nursing Licensure, with a completion of the Bachelors in Nursing Science. Minimum three years of nursing experience; with at least a year in perinatal/obstetrics/neonatal. Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills are essential. Must be self-directed and motivated. High ethical standards and professional role model required. NCC certification in inpatient obstetrics or other perinatal related certification highly desirable. Hours Primary hours will be Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm, and other hours as needed to support the work of the perinatal patient population. Responsible to Director of the Center of Advance Practice Nursing for Duke University Hospital and the Women and Children's Team Leader, in collaboration with the Maternal-Fetal Medicine Division Chief and the Pediatric Surgery Chief.
