The Certified Genetic Counselor provides counseling services in prenatal, pediatric, adult, in-patient consults, and cancer genetics, in the Department of Medical Genetics.
The Department of Medical Genetics is staffed by 2 full-time genetic counselors, a dietician and medical geneticist. The Perinatal Center serves the 11 county region of Northwest Illinois. Mercyhealth is a tertiary care facility offering maternal fetal medicine, neonatology, pediatric intensive care, reproductive medicine and genetic services.
Education: Master's level Genetic Counselor License/Certification: Board certified or board eligible by the American Board of Genetic Counseling (ABGC).; Licensure by the State of Illinois
