Reporting to the Quality Manager/Director. The Quality Review RN is responsible for all chart review in support of Quality and Risk Management activities; identifying risk, variance and peer review issues. This position supports and leads stakeholders to improve Quality metrics by attending department/committee workgroups and using quality improvement methodology. Collected data is used to identify trends and collaborate with physicians and frontline staff/leaders to improve processes. Other primary duties include data abstractions/validation for and IRR process for Core Measures, compile synpnosis for peer reviews and manage the peer review database. The Quality Review RN will perform retrospective reviews for surgical appropriateness based on guidelines and work closely with department Chair/Chief to resolve documentation needs to meet guidelines criteria. S/he will compile, analyze, and present data relating to serviceline to Quality Leadership and Patient Care Services leaders as needed to drive improvement.

BSN Required; MSN Preferred
CA RN license. 3 – 5 years of clinical experience in perinatal acute care area. Must have experience working in quality/risk department or managing quality metrics of frontline staff. Experience with core measures, peer review and data management preferred. Experience working with teams, physicians and other members of health care providers to improve quality metrics. Required: Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint experience.
